The Shopify integration is the core connection every IllumiChat store runs on. Once installed, IllumiChat syncs your product catalog, order history, customer records, and store policies, then keeps that data current as your store changes.
Your AI agent uses this data to answer real questions instead of generic ones: it can look up whether a specific product is in stock, pull the tracking status of an order by number or email, add or remove items from an active cart, and quote your actual return or shipping policy instead of a canned response.

Permissions, security, and limitations
IllumiChat requests read access to products, orders, and customers, and write access to carts and discounts so it can take action on a customer’s behalf. You can review and revoke these permissions at any time from your Shopify admin.
IllumiChat does not process payments or access stored payment details — checkout itself always happens on Shopify’s own checkout flow. For actions outside its configured permissions, such as issuing a refund your policies don’t allow automatically, IllumiChat hands the conversation to your team instead of guessing.
